Welcome to The Sphinx’s Mirror! I’m pleased you’re here.
My passion is talking about creative design in storytelling and games. I love seeing something beautiful or clever, interesting or well-put together, and sharing with others why it is that way. Even when something doesn’t have those qualities, the question of “why?” is just as interesting.
I analyze all sorts of narrative media, including television, film, comics, and novels. Beyond that, I study tabletop and video games both retro and modern. If it uses cards, dice, or involves leveling up, I’m into how it works and what makes it great.
While this blog focuses on concepts like function and execution, it’s not pompous or dry. The heart of The Sphinx’s Mirror is passion and inspiration, while its voice is comedic and approachable. My aim is to inform, inspire, and entertain.
There’s magic in the world. Let’s reflect on it.
